Little Pieces of Gold

Whilst Magical Leon, the new one-act play by Ben Maier, which Charlie is going to direct in the autumn, is still in the research and development stage, she is taking some time off from company business to direct a short play for Little Pieces of Gold.  Little Pieces of Gold is a highly-respected and long-standing showcase organisation, led by artistic director and producer Suzette Coon, which presents programmes of short plays by a selection of up-and-coming writers.  Previous performances have been at the Southwark Playhouse and Theatre503.

Charlie is thrilled to be directing Cyber-Babies by Poppy Corbett at the next Little Pieces of Gold on the 16th June at the Park Theatre.  The night, entitled ‘To Like or Not To Like‘, takes our relationship with social media and the internet as its theme.  Cyber-babies is a funny and insightful piece about modern parents’ ambivalence towards the internet, and its influence on their teenage children.  Charlie is also looking forward to working with actors Jonathan Leinmuller, who trained at Drama Centre, and Samantha Leverette – who received such wonderful reviews for her role as Marjory Salmon, in A Little While Longer by Melanie Hunter, which Charlie directed as part of City Slices & Country Crumbs in September.
